When You Want To Do It All: Tow Bar Bike Rack

A trip to the mountains or maybe camping in the woods can be great times to bring along the bikes. Family time can be enhanced by a family bike ride, and it can be a great way for everyone to get some exercise.

Whether you need to transport bikes hundreds of miles or to the park a mile away, the best way to do it is with a bike rack.  Mounted on the back of your van, truck or car, you can safely move bikes from place to place without having to worry about them falling or getting damaged.

There are several different types of racks for your vehicle. Some mount to the top of the vehicle, while others hook directly to the existing tow bar. If you are interested in taking your bikes and towing a trailer or something else, a tow bar bike rack can be a great way to get everything you need wherever you need it to be.

Tow bar bike racks must be installed to the back of your vehicle then you can tow a camper, trailer, or other vehicle behind you as well as your bikes. Some of these tow up to 6,000 pounds, and can tow one or multiple bikes.

When mounting your tow bar to your vehicle, it is important to remember to hook up wires that will allow you to have lights on the vehicle you are towing. Some tow bar bike racks come with the needed parts. You will need to check to see if yours comes with a wire kit. If it doesn’t come with a set, you will need to buy one on your own.

Heading far from home, or just headed to the park across town, the best way to get your bikes from one place to the other is with a bike rack on your vehicle. They are easy to assemble, and most are easy to remove, and best of all, you won’t need to worry about if your bike will be damaged when you arrive at your destination.
