Whenever Sony releases something big in their video game category before the holidays, it always sells out. It happened with the first Playstation, PS2, PS3, and now it’s expected to happen with Playstation Move. The good thing is that there are a couple of things that you can do to make sure that you get one. Obviously, buying it before it sells out is the easiest, but even once it’s gone you aren’t out of options!
I’m going to assume that you’ve already checked out the regular outlets to find your Move. You’ve already checked your local video games store, big box retailers, and toy stores with no luck. You can’t be surprised, they get a set amount of Moves based on what they predict they’re going to sell, and they always underestimate how many they really need. I’m not sure if they do this intentionally to drive up demand or sales after the first of the year, but it always happens and in order to find what you need, you have to look elsewhere.
What place is going to have it when everyone else is sold out? Amazon.com. They have warehouses all over the country full of these. They sell more than anyone else, and have other outlets to get them from if their inventory is gone. Not only will the have them, but they sell Playstation Move bundles that are going to save you a lot of money. You can get a bundle that has only what you need, or get one that includes the PS3 console. It’s also the best place on the web to get games for Playstation Move.
Odds are that you aren’t going to be able to get Move locally when it’s gets closer to the holidays. Either get it right now and not worry about stressing later, or have a back up plan that involves Amazon that will allow you to get exactly what you want.
