Shortlist of The Best Fat Burning Foods

The only permanent way to change and improve your metabolism is to exercise, build muscle and maintain a healthy lifestyle. However, there are certain fat burning foods that can also help speed up your metabolism. These are foods that help your body control its ability to burn fat eating these foods will give your metabolism a boost and help you burn fat over time.

Dairy Products

Calcium in dairy products triggers ones metabolism. Many studies have shown that people who consume 1,200 to 1,500 milligrams of calcium a day can lose up to twice as much weight as people who consumed less calcium. When consuming dairy products however, it’s best to consume the low fat variety.

Complex Carbohydrates

Whole grains and cereals contain complex carbohydrates, which take longer for the body to digest. Because of this, you feel full longer after eating them. This type of carbohydrate helps keep your insulin levels low, which, in turn, speeds up your metabolism. One particularly good source of a good fat burner that contains complex carbohydrates is oatmeal which is the perfect start to your day.

Peppers

Peppers contain a chemical called Capsaicin. This is what gives the pepper heat, which speeds up your heart and in turn speeds up your metabolism. A spicy meal a day can boost your metabolism. You can try Jalapenos, Habaneros and Cayenne peppers just to name a few.

Green Tea

Green tea contains an important component called EGCG. Accompanied by caffeine, it stimulates your body’s fat burning rate as it causes your brain and nervous system to work more quickly.

Protein Rich Foods

The more protein you eat, the harder your body works to digest it. It takes the body more energy to digest protein than carbohydrates or fat and protein feeds your muscles. Some good examples of protein sources are chicken, pork, lean beef, beans, fish and turkey.

Fish

Fish contains omega-3 fatty acids which helps control the levels of Leptin hormones. Leptin hormones are responsible for determining whether you burn calories or store them as fat. Good sources of omega-3 fatty acids are sardines, tuna and salmon.

Of course even the best fat burning foods won’t work all that well unless you pair them with some decent exercises that burn fat.  Adequate exercise, especially cardio workouts can really boost your metabolism and keep it high all day (and night).
