As a hiring manager at a large company, I sometimes find it difficult to find the right candidates for the positions we have available. My work day is typically taken up by paper work and putting out fires. Sifting through resumes or combing through dozens of job boards is just unrealistic for me on a day to day basis. Our company has a large IT department with all kinds of technical needs. Everyday is different and we are hiring for new positions on a monthly basis. I used to be completely overwhelmed by the hiring needs of my company, but now that I use an IT staffing company to fill our needs, my workflow is a lot easier for me to handle.
An IT Staffing company takes all the difficult and time consuming tasks off of my desk. They are the ones that find candidates and pre-screen them for me, before even putting them in front of me. This makes hiring a heck of a lot easier and has made my job more enjoyable. I am particularly impressed with the quality of candidates that have come through the door. Every time I send the IT Staffing company a job order I am confident that they will send me the best and brightest candidates who also happen to be the closest match for the job description.
IT Staffing companies are only paid if you hire the candidate that they have presented to you. Essentially your company is at no risk when using an IT recruiter. If the candidates sent do not meet your expectations you have no financial obligation to pay them. They mostly work of a fee based on a percentage of the employees yearly salary. Based on the quality of the candidate, and the cost to hire him or her, you can really get a good understanding of whether or not it is worth it to hire an employee presented by an IT staffing firm.
