Toxic Relationships: How To Get Out Before It’s Too Late

A toxic relationship is an awful thing to be in. Relationships can become tricky to handle sometimes but when they turn toxic they blow out of proportions. If you see the toxic relationship of someone else, you would probably give him solid advice, but when you get into one, you are at a loss for every logic, reason and decision making.

Relationships can go bad and from bad they can go worse. Ordinarily, people have an argument; they fight and then get normal again. However, couples with a tendency of a toxic relationship don’t stop once they have started fighting. They carry on for months on end. They can go through severe emotional and physical stress in the process.  Toxic family relationships can be especially difficult to deal with, and toxic mother daughter relationships are surprisingly common.

Treating those who are in a toxic relationship

Relationships are a sensitive issue for all of us. Even though the toxic relationship is wearing the person down, there is a good chance that the person may still be proud of his or her relationship. In such state, making them emotional won’t work. You have to emphatically and politely deal with the situation.

What is a toxic relationship?

The following are the typical warning signs of a toxic relationship:

Physical pain

All the couples fight but some take it to the next level. Verbal fights start ending up in physical fights. This is a major characteristic of a toxic relationship. Domestic violence isn’t profoundly expressed but there are signs which make it very apparent. If someone you know gets bruises and black eyes very frequently, it means a toxic relationship is one the cards.

Arguments

Fighting over small things can only mean thing: relationship is on a slope and going down. Couples that are unhappy start arguments over everything. Nothing is good enough for them. The first step is destruction in a relationship is arguments. Every couple argues but couples in toxic relationships argue hopelessly.

Having trust issues

Trust is the foundation for every relationship on earth, business or professional. When couples start to sail apart, they stop trusting each other. There is a constant thought that the partner is up to something behind my back. Once the trust is gone, the couple cannot happily survive and the relationship becomes toxic.

Mental torturing

Going through a bad relationship means that people involved are going through mental torture. Sometimes couples give each other deliberate mental torture as they seek vengeance. The mind becomes so disturbed that couples physically hurt each other and sometimes kill their partners or commit suicides. Such behavior is provoked when a person has been in an agonizing relationship for a long time.
